Romans 13:1 says that there is no authorities without God hence whoever is in charge of any organisation is known by God.
Definitely we have entered into another era of British politics where poplist voice and agenda is echoeing.
Personally I do not think that there is anythinlg wrong in a poplist as long as he or she does what pleases the Lord. Caring for the poor, the orphans, widows and aliens. As long as a leader does these, I am sure God will be pleased with him.
It is our duty and responsibility to pray for the Prime Minister, his cabinet and the politicians in UK.
A word of advice for the new leader and his cabinet. Brexit is not a personal, party and sectional agenda, it is a national agenda and hence should be seen and treated as such. What do I mean by this? The prime minister should not make the mistake of his predecessor hence a cross partty body should be formed which will include all the political parties in UK, business people, bank, trade union and the Bank of England with opposing views. This I believe will deliver Brexit that will be comprehensive, robust and acceptable to all and will command support from the Parliament.
This will also achieve his aim of uniting the nation.
Suspending the parliament to achieve his aim will be the greatest betrayal of democracy which he wants to restore its credibility.
It is well with us all.

It's another Mother's day and quickly the year has gone so far. We thank God for women who have been helping in the homes, schools, churches, communities and the country at large.
Even though not all women have children of their own because of one reason or the other, they are still the mothers of us all in the society. Regardless of how they have been treated in the past we now choose to celebrate and appreciate them for who they are and all that they are contributing to the society.
In this Church on Sunday, we have decided to celebrate and recognize three women who have served selflessly in promoting, peace, progress and development in Harringay and Haringey.
We salute all of them and say thank you to these women of virtue and substance.
If you can, please join us from 11am on Sunday march 6, 2016

Housing problem, are we learning?

15/7/2014

Only six years ago the world's economy melt down that central banks of several countries bailed out the commercial and corporate banks because according to governments, they are 'too big to fail'.

Up till today no one has been concerned why we got  ourselves into that mess. It appears that the guys in the banks are untouchable and no sooner we are back to business as usual - fat bonuses.

Vaguely the problem was traced to housing boom where people who were unable to afford mortgage were given even up to 100%. Little did anyone pay attention to the estate agents. It amuses me when they are called to value homes and they just step in look round briefly and just put outrageous figure on the house. There is no basis or scale for their figure they only say that is the market value.

We create these artificial values and it just gets higher and higher at a ridiculous and astronomical rate that I fear that one day it will crash because when things get higher and higher without control it has to crash and the crash is always great.
As someone has said, the higher you go the farther you will fall and that is the next stage of economy for which we are setting ourselves.

I write this because I am fearful for our children when and how will they be able to get to the ladder? Government's help will surely escalate the situation because it amounts to encouraging them to spend the money they don't have therefore putting them deeper into debt?

Are we learning at all? why can't we be sensible and become less greedy?

More than Gold

The Queen's diamond jubilee celebration was very colourful and hugely successful and we thank God for it and pray that God will bless the queen and enable her to call the nation back to God.

In about seven weeks time, this great city of London will be hosting the greatest sporting event - the Olympics where all the world will come to the city that hosts all their representatives even before the Olympics.

Athletes will be competing for various medals and every one will compete for gold but not every one in a sport will get the gold. Only one will.

How I wish that te nation spends huge amount of money, and resources on this ephemeral thing that we will concentrate on what is eternal and compete for the gold that do not rust.

All  I encourage the Christians who will visit the Olympic venues is to take the fragrance of Christ with them and let it fill the venue.

Enjoy your summer.

Enjoy Life to the full:
Jesus said in John 10:10 'I have come that they might have life to the full'.
It is God's intention and plan that we enjoy life. Jesus has defeated Satan, death and its power. So we have a choice to be joyful or not. This joy is not dependent on our circumstances or people around us, its source is God
therefore, nothing can take that joy away from us except we allow them. I want to encourage you not to allow people and circumstances to steal your joy. You cannot stop what people will think about you, say and do to you, but you can choose your response. Choose a positive response.

NEW LIFE IN JESUS CHRIST

9/4/2013

We have just celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. As Christians we have the hope that one day we will be raised from the dead like Jesus and will reign with Him.
God's desire for us is to be perfect as our Father is perfect [Matthew 5:48]
No one has ever achieved this status and if there is anyone who thinks s/he has there must be an element of delusion in that person. Paul the Apostle and the writer of most of the Epistles [letters] of the New Testament said  that he has not achieved this [perfection] but he forgets the past and looking on to the future.
What I am learning now is to live a new live in Christ on daily basis so that everyday is a new day to try more to be perfect as our Lord Jesus is. Jesus Christ has died, has risen and lives forever more, the life we live now is not ours anymore but the life of Christ in God. So as an egg is a symbol of new life, let us take everyday as opportunity to live a new life in Christ Jesus and with the help of the Holy Spirit in us we will be getting closer to the goal that God has set for us.

SEASON'S GREETINGS

20/12/2012

As we draw close to Christmas, I believe that many of you are very busy shopping for this great annual event that has lost its meaning for  the vast majority of the population.

I want to remind us that Christ is the reason for the season. He is the perfect gift God has given to us so that we might have eternal life. Anyone who believes Him and the work of salvation He did on the Cross through His death and resurrection will be saved.

He also presented Himself as a perfect gift to God by offering His life as atoning sacrifice to please the Father's wrath on the sinners.

What gift are you going to give to God this year? Two good gifts I suggest.

First, if you have not given your life to Jesus, the best thing you can give is your life. Ask him to forgive your past wrong thinking, words and doings and ask Him to come into your heart and then you will have eternal life and the Holy Spirit will come to live in you.

Second, if you have given your life to Jesus, following His ways and obeying His commands, then give Him your total committment and God will bless you.

On this note I say MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW 2013.

What next after the Olympics?

30/8/2012

The much awaited London 2012 summer Olympic have come and gone with all the excitement, opportunities and disappointments.
No doubt it was a huge success but what will become of the medals won and the winners. First there is the intrinsic value for the winners because the medal gave them a temporary happiness and satisfaction and the nation is proud to be ranked third best in the world.
The extrinsic values give the winners and the nation some economic and financial gains but none of these  is guaranteed.
In the world's Olympics, many run but only one wins the prize. why not run with Jesus  the race of life where all run and win.
But we have use the same level of the committment, discioline and dedication of the athletes to win this race and it is very certain and guaranteed by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Your disappointments will be God's appointments

30/12/2011

I want to extend the felicity of the season to all our regular visitors to this site and to those who stumble to it and pray that may the peace of God of Christmas be with you all.
2011 is almost gone with all it joys and sorrows, woes and blessings, successes and failures, the achievements and the disappointments.
No matter what has happened, let us forget that year and focuse of God who holds the future. He said in Isaiah 43:18-20 to forget the former things and not to dwell in the past things because he's going to do a new thing. He will create a way in the wilderness and stream from the desert - that is the widest dream you could ever have, but that is God's promise.
In 2012, God will turn all your past disappointments into His appointment to bless and honour you.
on this note I say HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

Renewing our Strength.

4/10/2011

Dear Friends,
As we enter the month of October (Autum), we'll be seeing leaves turning yellowish/orangeish colours and falling off trees and trees renewing their strength and energy so that when Spring comes, they can come with new leaves and new lives and flowers making difference again to our environment.
As Christians, we too must hibernate ourselves in private renewing our strength by renewing our relationship with God, soaking ourselves in prayer for God's manifest presence in our midst so that we will make difference in our environment.
With Christian love, have a good autum.

Enjoy God as much as you want

29/8/2011

Enjoying God as much as you want.
Most people think that God is hard to find, His presence hard to come by and therefore they have given up and rescind themselves to their situation and experience.
I want to encourgae you that God is not far from each of us at all. In fact, for all that have given their lives to Jesus, God lives in them by His Holy Spirit. He is actively involved in our daily lives and He wants to take every step, make every plan and execute them with us if we will only obey Him.
The problem we have is to do things in our way and expect God's result. That will not work. The way things will work in God's way is to do things in His way by reading His Word, understnad what He wants us to do and just do it. i.e. just obey His word and we will enjoy as much of Him.
God bless you.
